We stumbled upon this antique Victorian brass pendant-brooch at a favorite flea market this fall and were thrilled to discover that a matching hair pin accompanied the design…and that it was just as beautiful (more so, really) up close than it was in the glass case in which it was displayed. The craftsmanship is impeccable, with filigree work showing curling leafy tendrils and delicately-dangling pendants, not to mention gorgeous green glass gems decorating its surface. We decided to emphasize the beautiful bronze tones of the piece by adding cast brass beads , along with faceted raw brass beads from India, for a look that is as effortless as it is elegant. A bronze toggle clasps the necklace at back and brings the necklace to 18 in length. The matching hair pin measures 4 length and accompanies the necklace, of course.
